Came here for work with my colleague during an event. Since it was a weeknight, they weren't busy. They are located behind the San Diego Convention Center. You will need to climb a steep stairs, then climb down. It's about a 15 minute brisk walk which wasn't too bad. Great service overall and food were delicious. Cheers!

Lucy our server was FANTASTIC!! She really made the food taste so delicious. Her recommendations were spot on as well. Honestly, had very low expectations based on past experiences. Let me tell you that the quality of the food was amazing! I would totally come back. In addition, their portions are awesome and their take out containers are reusable! Haha! The seafood was fresh and flavorful. This Joe's Crab Shack made me a believer and we will definitely come back. They have good drinks and a good place to watch sports.

Joe's Crab Shack! Visited the San Diego Located on North Harbor Drive! A short walk from the San Diego Convention Center! Joe's is a Seafood Chain of restaurants. They serve delicious coastal dishes. Fried shrimp platters, signature fish entrées, famous steam pots! We ordered a Shack Daddy Steam Pot! It had Snow Crab, Dungeness Crab, shrimp and Mussels! Don't forget to throw on your bib and dive right in!!!! We also ordered Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon! Served with Dijon Cream , tomatoes and a side of jasmine rice. Ordered a couple of Blue Moons, too!!! I had fun during the meal. Nothing like picking up a piece of Crab and not worry about the mess!!! That said, you should try Joe's Crab Shack and enjoy it as much as I did!!!! See you in the next video! Nothing beats the San Diego Harbor views at Joes Crab Shack next to Downtown San Diego! My husband and I decided to come here right when they opened after we built up an appetite after our morning walk. The hostess sat us down right away. Our server Angie was very attentive and took our order pretty quickly. Our fish and chips plate was tasty, I ordered a captain and Coke which was pretty darn good and I have to say their music playlist was definitely popping! The manager checked in on us and asked if we were enjoying ourselves and we had to say "YES!" Without a doubt! Thanks for the hospitality!

The only reason we stopped in to this Joe's Crab Shack was due to nostalgia, as my wife used to work here in her early days, back when she lived in San Diego. Neither of us are generally a fan of chain restaurants, so personally, I wasn't expecting much of Joe's, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the relatively basic fish tacos, while my wife and stepson split a bucket o' crab between them, which they tore into ravenously. As crab tends to be, it was a little light on meat, so an appetizer of the Great Balls of Fire was added to supplement, which were similarly enjoyed and destroyed by all. Our server was prompt and friendly, although it would be difficult not to be, as we were almost the only customers in the restaurant at the time; we came close to opening time, but it steadily filled out as our meal progressed. Even as we left, things seemed to be moving at a good clip, with everyone seemingly enjoying their meals, the service, and the kitschy, quirky, but endearing décor and ambiance. If nothing else, this Joe's (at least) should be commended for creating such a fun and enjoyable environment, with a similarly spectacular location on the shores of San Diego Bay. Places like this Joe's Crab Shack make me rethink my opinion of chain restaurants. I would still like to see a more robust crab for the price, but other than that, I really can't find much to detract from the experience here. We may have lost our own Joe's back in Vancouver, WA, but I'm glad this one is sticking around, at least for now.
